Le Mourier Guppy Camp 2022

The following frequently asked questions will hopefully answer any questions you may have with how Le Mourier Activity Camps will run during the current climate and reassure you that we have added in additional procedures, as far as reasonably practicable, and taken steps to reduce the risk of virus spread.

Q. Will the camp experience feel any different to my child if they have been on camp before?

As has always been the case, the children on camps will be divided into one of Three groups. Red, Green or Blue. These groups are based on the child’s swimming ability. at certain points in the day, ie sign in / out and lunch times, all three groups come together so children, who may have friends on the camp who are in a different ability group, will meet up.

Other activities that are fundamental to the children’s enjoyment of the camps- swimming, sports hall games, outside activities and excursions- will all remain but will adhere to all necessary guidelines.

Q. What do i do when i bring my child to the camp?

You will sign in your child as has always been the case. To enable us to adhere to the current physical distancing guidelines and to alleviate any congestion at this point of the day, there will be some slight changes to how you will sign in and sign out from previous camps.

  • There will be two sign in locations: Inverness Lodge for Blue group and St Lawrence Primary School for Green and Red groups. A physical distancing queuing system for sign in will be in place at both venues. To alleviate congestion we do ask that only one parent attends sign in at each location.
  • One of our senior member of camp staff will be there at sign in, this may not be your child’s group leader. however any issues/medical/allergy information will be known to us in advance and will be requested during the booking process. If you feel there is a need for further information to be passed on with respect to your child/children, this should be given to the staff member at sign in.
  • Parents will only be allowed access as far as sign in- access to the garden/chalet (Inverness Lodge) and inside areas (St Lawrence Primary School) is restricted to staff and children only to assist with distancing.

Q. What do i do when i collect my child from the camp?

There will be 2 sign out locations, Inverness Lodge and  St Lawrence Primary School. A physical distancing queuing system for sign out will be in place at both venues. To alleviate congestion we do ask that only one parent attends sign out at each location.

Q. If i have one child whose group signs in at Inverness Lodge and another child who signs in at St Lawrence Primary School, do i have to attend both locations?

Unfortunately yes you do. The locations are of course very close together, but we do apologise for this extra small journey- it is a necessity based on our new protocols.

Q. What if i have a child on Guppy Camp and another on Marlin Camp, do i have to attend both locations?

Unfortunately yes you do. Marlin camp will be running from the St Lawrence Sports & Community Centre which is very close to our two Guppy Camp locations, but we do apologise for this extra small journey- it is a necessity based on our new protocols and we endevour to re establish our inter-camp transfer service as soon as possible.

Q. Will my child need to wear a mask?

No. Unless government guidelines change to make the wearing of them compulsory Le Mourier is not insisting on them. If you wish your child to wear a mask you will need to provide them with their own and we will fully respect a parent’s wishes in this regard.
